What is Hanstone Quartz?
HanStone Quartz is a premium engineered stone surface produced by Hyundai L&C (formerly Hanwha Surfaces). Known for balancing high-end aesthetics with extreme durability, it has become a top competitor to brands like Caesarstone, Silestone, and Cambria
Composition & Manufacturing
HanStone is an "engineered stone," meaning it is not sliced directly from the earth like granite or marble.
-
The Mix: It consists of approximately 93% natural quartz (one of the hardest minerals on earth) and 7% high-quality polyester resins and pigments.
-
Breton™ Technology: HanStone uses the Italian "Breton" manufacturing process, which is the gold standard in the industry. It uses high-pressure vacuum vibration to create a slab that is incredibly dense and virtually void-free.
-
Kreos™ Technology: Their newer lines utilize "Kreos" technology, which allows for deeper, more complex veining that mimics the look of natural quartzite and marble more realistically than older quartz generations.
Key Features & Benefits
HanStone is designed to solve the "weaknesses" of natural stone.
-
Non-Porous: Unlike granite or marble, it doesn't have microscopic pores. This means it never needs to be sealed and is naturally resistant to bacteria, mold, and mildew.
-
Stain & Scratch Resistant: It is highly resistant to common household acids (like lemon juice or vinegar) and is difficult to scratch with standard kitchen knives.
-
Eco-Friendly: Most HanStone products are GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality and NSF 51 certified for food safety. Many slabs also incorporate recycled materials.
