Hanex Solid Surface: Where Limitless Design Meets Seamless Performance
Hanex by Hyundai delivers seamless, thermoformable acrylic surfaces for limitless design. Non-porous and repairable, this hygienic material is the premier choice for curved counters, bespoke kitchens, and durable commercial interiors.
What is Hanex Made Of?
Hanex is composed of approximately:
-
One-third Acrylic Resin (PMMA): This acts as the binder, giving the material its flexibility and allowing it to be joined seamlessly.
-
Two-thirds Natural Minerals: Primarily Alumina Trihydrate (ATH), a derivative of bauxite. This provides the stone-like hardness and fire resistance.
-
Pigments: High-grade dyes that create consistent color through the entire thickness of the slab
Standout Features
What makes Hanex unique compared to Sintered Stone or Quartz is its plasticity:
-
Inconspicuous Seams: Unlike stone, which always has a visible line where two pieces meet, Hanex can be chemically "welded" together. Once sanded, the joint becomes completely invisible.
-
Thermoformability: Hanex can be heated and bent into curves, waves, or 3D shapes. This makes it a favorite for curved reception desks or organic kitchen islands.
-
Repairability: Because the color goes all the way through, scratches can be sanded out by a professional, and even deep chips can be "patched" with a piece of the same material to look brand new.
-
Integrated Sinks: You can have a Hanex sink fused directly to a Hanex countertop, creating a single, continuous surface with no "lip" for dirt or mold to grow in.
Popular Applications
-
Healthcare & Labs: Because it is non-porous and seamless, it is the gold standard for hospital surfaces where hygiene is critical.
-
Commercial Design: Curved reception counters and backlit feature walls (some Hanex colors are translucent).
-
Residential Kitchens: Ideal for homeowners who hate visible joints or want a "soft-touch" feel rather than the coldness of real stone.
-
Bathrooms: Perfect for custom-molded shower pans and vanities.
